Children's Activities
Our main Children's activity is the Saturday Club (see the Notice Board for latest dates). It is for primary school aged children, and takes place about once a month on Saturday afternoons at Ordsall Parish Hall. In 2009 Saturday Club will meet on the last Saturday of each month. We also have a Children's Activity in the Easter holidays - in 2010 it will be on Good Friday, 10am-2pm. For more details contact Joan: Telephone 01777 706987 Easter - 2009
Note for parents: We are committed to the safety and security of children in all our activities. All those who work with children on behalf of the Church Council - in Sunday school and in any other capacity - are vetted by the Church's child protection committee. All volunteers working with children on behalf of the Church are checked through the Criminal Records Bureau in accordance with the diocesan Child Protection Policy. CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES ANNUAL REPORT 2008Saturday Club continues to take place one Saturday per month in All Hallows Church Hall. A dedicated band of adults help in a variety of ways to provide a programme of activities for Primary Age Children. The numbers fluctuate from month to month but we continue to encourage the children to come along and bring their friends. We also had a fun morning on Good Friday which finished with a short service in the church after lunch. Some children also attended a fun afternoon in the grounds of Southwell Minster. Many thanks go to all the adults who give up their time to prepare and help at Saturday Club. Without these people the club would not be able to continue. Joan Henderson, Contact person CHILD PROTECTION ANNUAL REPORT 2008All our C R B records are up to date with everyone who has been required to do so successfully going through the checking procedures again at the end of their third year. In 2007 we added 2 names to our list of people with CRB enhancement and removed the name of someone who no longer worships in the parish. The major task this year, however, has been the complete revision of our Parish Child Protection Policy and the accompanying booklet ‘What to do if ….’ This was completed in December, has been approved by the PCC and there are copies of both in Church which you are urged to look at. We are most grateful for the help given to us by Barbara Selley, the Diocesan Child Protection officer; her support and guidance will be on going. Olwen Kerswill, Child Protection Officer HEALTHCHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES ANNUAL REPORT 2007Saturday Club continues to operate in All Hallows Church Hall from 2.00pm to 4.00pm one Saturday per month. A dedicated band of adults help in a variety of ways to come up with new ideas and activities and ten of us attended a Diocesan Training Day and Workshop at Mansfield in October to boost our enthusiasm and stir up our ideas. Last September we lost our leader Sue Whorton and we miss her very much. We are very grateful and thankful for all the great times we had together. The number of children attending Saturday Club varies from month to month and we are still concerned about our older age young people and what can be provided for them. Joan Henderson, Contact person CHILD PROTECTION ANNUAL REPORT 2007There are currently 27 on the All Hallows’ CRB register. These include churchwardens, Readers, the organist and 1 female choir member, all those involved in any way in children’s work in the parish and any other persons who hold keys to the church. 5 new names were added in 2006 and the application of 1 more is being processed. We are in conversation with bell ringers about their CRB arrangements. At our request, 3 names were removed from the All Hallows list in 2006, 2 because of relocation away from the parish and 1 person who ceased to hold office Before any CRB disclosure application is completed the person making the application is required to provide 2 satisfactory references, one of which must come from a person living outside Ordsall parish. The law requires that everyone holding a CRB disclosure certificate shall complete new forms and reapply for a new certificate every third year. All our renewals are up to date.
