| All Hallows has a small but enthusiastic choir of
adults and children, men and women. It leads the worship musically
at the 10.15am service at All Hallows, and at weddings.
If you are interested in joining the choir please get in touch.

Note
for parents: We are committed to the safety and security of children in all our
activities. All those who work with children on behalf of the Church
Council - in Sunday school and in any other capacity - are vetted by the
Church's child protection committee. All volunteers working with
children on behalf of the Church are checked through the Criminal
Records Bureau in accordance with the diocesan Child Protection Policy.

CHOIR
and MUSIC
ANNUAL
REPORT 2008
The main comments I would like
to make are
-
The choir numbers are still
small on Sundays.
-
We have a faithful few who
keep things going and we are grateful to them.
-
I shall continue to be on
the look out for new recruits.
-
I am hoping that we might
have an alto presence now and again soon.
-
On the other hand we have
again managed to provide a choir at those weddings requiring one with the
help of other members of our congregation and beyond. This is a very
pleasing aspect which I hope we can repeat in 2008.
-
Also we did manage to try a
couple of choir pieces again with the aid of co-opted members. This is
something I hope to develop this year but it does depend on the presence of
those agreeing to participate at practice and on the day itself.
-
I am still happy to receive
requests for hymns at the services (but please give me a couple of week’s
notice).
As ever I am very grateful to
those who stand in for me by playing at holiday times and for funerals during
the working week.

ALL HALLOWS CHOIR AND MUSIC Annual Report 2007
Another year has passed so
quickly. The end of period report contains the following headlines:
-
The choir numbers have
dwindled unfortunately. We will continue to look for new recruits though.
-
On the other hand we have
managed to provide a choir at weddings with the help of some co-opted
members. You will be sought out again!
-
We lost the services of Sue
late in the
year
and also Kate; thanks to them for their contribution over the years.
-
The hymn book is becoming
more familiar but there are many we have not tried yet. I am, of course,
happy to receive requests but please give me a little notice.
-
We now have the benefit of
the renovated organ; I never want to see that key-board again.
-
I am, as ever, very
grateful to those who stood in for me during the year.
-
I am still feeling my way
in this post and would welcome any useful suggestions you may have.

Director of Music (from late
2006)
