Discussion Groups

Friday Evening Bring-and-Share

The Friday evening group has a varied programme, meeting in different homes, but following the same format: a supper, to which all members contribute, and a discussion time.

Sometimes we have followed a book - during Lent 2005, for example, we followed Robin Gill's A Sense of Grace - and sometimes we have a more varied and home-grown programme. Past discussions have included: homosexuality in the church, Celtic spirituality, a bible study on money, and we have shared a Passover meal together. We tend to meet for a few weeks together and then have a break. The programme for Lent 2006 shows a typical discussion programme.

The Monday Group

Monday Discussion Group

The Monday Group is a long standing discussion group. It welcomes members from a number of local churches as well as Ordsall. New members are very welcome.

The group sets its own programme, sometimes following a bible study and sometimes other themes. It is a relaxed, cheerful, sociable group, very open to new members. And, logically enough, it meets on Mondays - at 10.00am at members' homes.

In September 2008 we are following the book 'Justice and the Heart of God' by Emma Kennedy and will be meeting at 40 Blackstope Lane. To find out more please contact Pauline Partridge.
